Hmm. Once again I order something from an apparently UK-based website, only to find out - at dispatch time and not before - that it's actually coming from the Netherlands.

I mean I don't object to international shipping per se, but I do think websites should declare this kind of thing before you order.

A good day of progress electricity-wise. Moved the right clamp so that the EV charger can take as much solar as it wants (previously it was lumped in with 'export' so got capped by our export limit, for ... reasons).

And WPD officially admit we're over voltage, and are "raising a reinforcement scheme" (which I think means "turning down the transformer a bit")

So I spent the whole day in Malta thinking it was an hour earlier than it was, which wasn't a problem until we tried to go to our restaurant reservation...

As a child (and frankly, adult) who (a) loved reading, and (b) hated being forced into fancy dress, World Book Day is a horrific idea that needs to die in the same fire as that fucking Elf.

I can genuinely think of no way you could have put me off books as a child more effectively then forcing me to "dress up as my favourite character"(*)

(*) limited, of course, by what i was willing to admit, and wear, and that my mum could possibly have fashioned

A quick reminder (because I forgot, and you might too) that they've changed the rules on Postal Voting in the UK, and you *probably* now have to apply (every three years, no less!) instead of just, you know, ticking the box.

(I won't try and offer links because every country - and possibly region - seems to be different)

This is presumably because some idiot has bought the certain parties' lies about how all postal votes are fraudulent, or something /sigh

Have to confess to being impressed by our DNO; finally got around to reporting our excessive supply voltage (peaked at 257V today!), expecting ... well, not much.

Certainly didn't expect two trucks to turn up within the hour, and a nice chat with the engineer who (a) didn't just blame my solar, and (b) has wandered off to the transformer to kick it.

Might not be an instant fix because, of course, it's drifted down to 252V now, but if not it'll get a voltage logger and, later, a fix hopefully!
